Year 1AH visit Middleport Pottery Museum

On Wednesday 12th October we went to Middleport Pottery Museum. The day started with an explanation of how pieces of pottery, including teapots, are created. We then had a tour around the museum, including going into a bottle kiln! It was exciting to hear that a job at the factory used to be being a sagger makers bottom knocker! We heard a story about Netty the painter and her magic paintbrush which inspired us to design our own plates. In the afternoon we had lots of fun making our own bottle kilns out of clay.
