Year 5AG visit Longton Fire Station
On Wednesday, Year 5 enjoyed going to Longton fire station and learning about a variety of different everyday situations such as drugs and alcohol abuse, playing around trucks and lorries, what is means to be a good civilian in society, learning about fraud, and what to do if there is a fire in your house. We found out that we should block our doors with our clothes if there is a fire as the smoke is the part which would be most harmful. Additionally, we learnt that drugs and alcohol have affects on the mind and body, and it was tested using 'drunk' googles and driving a car which we crashed: this explains why drink driving is illegal.
